Who is Remit Corporation and what is a collection agency?

Collection agencies have come a long way from what they were in the early days of credit and collection. Dramatic changes have taken place over the past 10 years. We like to think the word "Agency" has special meaning for Remit Corporation. Webster defines agency as, "a person or business authorized to act on another's behalf". To Remit Corporation, "Agency" means "Choice or Freedom to choose". We believe one should always exercise their "Freedom to choose" a response to any situation. This includes the frustrating and difficult process of collecting past due receivables. What are your collection "Choices"?

Our purpose is to earn the respect, confidence and loyalty of our clients through education, consultation, negotiation and strict compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Remit Corporation's History

Remit Corporation was founded on January 1, 1992 when we were incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. The first six months were devoted to developing our business plan and assessing the needs of potential clients in our industry. Much time was spent during our start-up exploring the various system options that would best meet the needs of our clients. The first month we actually received, processed and collected money for our clients was June 1992. In December of 1992, as we experienced sudden growth, we moved our offices to a professional business park between Bloomsburg and Danville Pennsylvania. We expanded our staff to meet the developing needs of our clients.

October of 1994 brought about our move to downtown Bloomsburg. We were in need of additional space and also felt that being between the communities of Bloomsburg and Danville left Remit Corporation with a true home in either community. This move brought about an expansion in our phone system, computer system and our first dialer. The space was larger than we needed at the time but allowed for future growth. We called 114 W. Main Street home for over seven years. During that time we tripled our staff and clients an invested in education, our community, our industry, technology and developing strategic partnerships with our vendors and others in the industry.

On January 17, 2000, Remit Corporation purchased a commercial building and moved to its current location at 36 West Main Street Bloomsburg. Once again, there is room for our continued growth.
